The following week will act as our Test Week for the Granite Games cycle. For the most part, I find that getting athletes to both attend and take test week seriously is somewhat of a challenge. Thus you’ll find that the next week has a lot of both visible tests and some tests snuck into the programming to still allow for a badass week of training.
Front Squat: 1 RM
Build to something heavy in the front squat. We haven’t been doing the front squat a bunch this cycle but I’d put money on the fact that all of our muscular endurance has drastically improved with all the work from the EMOM back squats. We’ve also slowly introduced the front squat the past three weeks to prep for the above session.
EMOM until failure, complete:
5 Lateral Burpees
3 Thrusters (95/63) (+ 5 lbs.)
The format of today’s workout is as follows: athletes will perform five lateral burpees and then three thrusters before adding five pounds, when the minute turns over follow the same format; five lateral burpees and three thrusters. Do this until failure.
Accumulate three minutes per side.
